Hirslanden Clinique des Grangettes
Cabinet dr. Friedli
2021-GenèveSwitzerland
In the clinic, the latest generation of cosmetic treatments, including 2500 injection treatments per year, are offered. Dr. Friedli has been the most important injector of Botulinum Toxin in Switzerland for several years and is specialist in the detection and treatment of skin cancer.
The intervention project had a double objective:
-at the project level, to ensure the renovation and reorganisation
-at the construction level, to carry out the work over only 4 weeks.
The project focused on giving the clinic a modern look through new lighting choices (installation of LED lines, new medical equipment, and surgical lights) and new furniture in sober colours. The layout has also been redesigned to provide greater efficiency to the internal workflows of the doctor and his staff and to improve patient privacy and experience.
Red Whale Swim School - Bellevue 2021-2022-Bellevue - GenèveSwitzerland
Red Whale Swim School is specialised in swimming lessons for children from the age of 4 months. This pool will provide swimming lessons to 1000-3000 children per week. This facility will be child and family friendly. The pool will be heated to 33c.
The project fits into the context by trying to link and enhance the precious green context context that surrounds it. The perception of the outdoor green space will positively qualify the space of the indoor pool.
The aquatic centre includes a swimming pool, changing rooms, sanitary facilities, offices, a technical room, equipment and other facilities. The functionality and efficiency of the spaces characterise the form of the building: a large volume with a sloping green roof that houses the 19.5 by 9 metre pool area. On the ground floor are loated the large hall, the reception, the administration, the parents' waiting area and the play areas for children. This space is characterised by full-height glazing which allows the whole pool to be seen. The basement is characterised by technical areas.
For the construction, the basement is made of concrete, while for the above ground part we favour the use of more natural materials such as a laminated wooden structure and sound absorbing wood cladding.
The Project offers an efficient, functional and user friendly organization. The internal working spaces are designed to achieve the maximum level of efficiency in terms of internal circulation, internal layout, building services distribution and construction process, guaranteeing a high level of quality.
The design intends to embrace the “Collider view” as chance encounters and unplanned interactions between knowledge workers, both inside and outside.
Another important aspect of the Project is to be open to Public Community, through engaging the surrounding community and offering some spaces open to public users.

Établissements Hospitaliers du Nord Vaudois - Competition
2021-YverdonSwitzerland
A project with an important urban and social character in the city. The project is conceived as an opportunity to connect the health care system with the adjacent thermal and urban system through the use of a strong connecting element such as green spaces.
The “green” plays an important role and becomes a metaphor for healing in different forms. The entrance to the hospital on Rue de Gasparin becomes a new context intended to be a safe urban square, with reduced traffic and speed, a quiet space with a pavement covered with soundproofing material and large green spaces.
The new hospital, designed as an efficient and compact system, is articulated around the central connective axis: a gallery covered with glass and photovoltaic panels that tends to "humanise the hospital" by creating a meeting space between the patient and his guests. A space pervaded with humanity, nature, urbanity and work, which communicates harmony, security and orientation. This element connects the new building of the "high hospital specializations" and the transformed building with the functions for the city. An aerial pathway connects the system to the administrative and research centre and the future car park.
The project, like a fragment of the city, deals with the theme of the volumetric and chromatic relationship of the building with the city, seeking to define an "urban" street façade: a succession of volumes of the same height, but articulated differently, with different pigmentation.

A landmark building, the new headquarters is an extension to the previous head office, an existing building from the ‘60s. The Project addresses the former volume by a similar compact typology marked by a series of windows, but showing a language evolution in terms of surfaces, lights and material, rhythm of façades and interior fitting.
The windows’ shape and sides are tapered toward the outside, looking like carved openings into the white plaster surface of façade, while the silk screened glass shading panels create a light effect that brings back the thickness of the walls to the common flat plane of the block.
The interior is characterized by an alternation of working areas, open spaces, and private rooms, defined by transparent glass diaphragms in order to provide at the same time, visibility and connection trough different location and privacy corners when needed. A transparent elevator runs through the open spaces assuring spatial continuity and integration among the working groups of professionals.
The project is designed to achieve the maximum comfort and energy saving for a best sustainable condition. Centralized distribution systems are improved by efficient exterior insulation and underfloor thermal mass heating collaborating with targeted radiant-cooling system.

A centre dedicated to the Diagnostic-Medical-Critical area, dedicated to first aid, emergency medicine, resuscitation and diagnostics with a total capacity of 210 beds. Part of the old pavilions will be renovated, and the " soft" medicine areas will be located there, while the rest will be demolished for the creation of a public park.
The structure aims to reorganize and improve the city layout by better positioning itself in it and offering more green spaces.
Modern and technologically advanced, environmentally friendly, flexible, integrated with the rest of the hospital and the territory but, most of all, focused on the person.
